Shop Til You Drop

Ho ho ho, it’s that time of year again — when we shop ‘til we drop, tumbling into a puddle of anxiety and shattered bank accounts. I’ve made it a tradition to bank a vacation day for Cyber Monday, where I park myself in front of my computer and knock out (almost) all of my shopping in one go. I still remember the chaos before I figured out my Cyber Monday routine — it was a mess and I hated it. But this year, I snuggled up in my warm bed, jammies on, checking off my list with deep discounts. And just as I got comfy, it started snowing outside, so I brewed a lovely cup of tea. Couldn’t have asked for a better setup.

Making My List, Checking It Thrice

I call it my Mrs. Claus List. I mean, let’s be real — she’s the one who can’t function without it, right? I jot down each person’s name, what I bought them, and the price. It’s a lifesaver, keeps me on budget, and even helps when I’m wrapping gifts because I can see if I’m missing anything.

Oh NO! I Forgot Something - I ALWAYS Forget Something

Now, try as I might, I always forget something. It’s usually ahem, some obscure ingredient for Christmas dinner. I’ve got a lot going on here, okay?! I can't say I've ever had to run out ON Christmas Day, but I’ve made a few last-minute stops here and there.

If you’re anything like me and often find yourself in a Christmas pickle, you’ll need to figure something out because major retailers are announcing they’ll be closed on Christmas Day. Humbug, right? Haha, just kidding. I have to say, in a world that is run by greed and the almighty dollar - these grocery stores closing their doors is a huge step back in the right direction.

  • Christmas Eve: On Christmas Eve, Walmart will be open 12:00 - 18:00. Finish up your last-minute Christmas shopping at Walmart, open early on Christmas Eve for your convenience.
  • Christmas Day: Walmart will be closed on Christmas Day. Take time to relax and enjoy the holiday with family and friends.
