Though Winter Storm Blair has moved out of the tri-state, her effects are still being felt. Thousands in the tri-state are without power. Yesterday, I wrote about CenterPoint Energy bringing in hundreds of personnel into the area to assist with efforts to restore power. Yesterday evening, CenterPoint sent an email with more specific power restoration times:

Winter Storm Blair caused significant damage resulting in hundreds of downed trees and limbs, scores of broken poles and extensive wire damage. Crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore service, and we are now able to provide more specific and localized times of restoration based on regional groupings:

Region One: Haubstadt, Fort Branch and Winslow – to be essentially restored by close of business Tuesday, January 7
Region Two: Mount Vernon, New Harmony and Wadesville – to be essentially restored by close of business Wednesday, January 8
Region Three: Dale and Rockport – to be essentially restored by close of business Wednesday, January 8
Region Four: Lynnville, Boonville and Newburgh – to be essentially restored by close of business Thursday, January 9
Region Five: Evansville – to be essentially restored no later than Friday. However, it’s expected that most customers will be restored sooner. We will be providing more granular ETR data for Evansville on Wednesday.

Residents experiencing power outages are encouraged to use warming centers and other emergency resources in the area.

How to Turn Off the @everyone tag on Facebook

Lately, I've been really annoyed by the constant use of the @everyone tag on Facebook. While I can’t quite pinpoint why it annoys me so much, I found out there’s a way to turn off those notifications if you know where to look!
