Illinois Ranks Among Top Competitive Eating States in America

Illinois is well-known for its deep-dish pizza, Chicago-style hot dogs, and a food scene that rivals the best in the country. But did you know that the state is also a heavyweight in America of competitive eating?

According to a recent ranking, Illinois, unsurprisingly, is one of the top states in America for competitive eating.  I mean, ya girl can eat... but competitively? Not a chance.

Competitive eating is a sport that’s as intense as it is entertaining.  It's incredibly dangerous, though.  I've seen too many news stories about people dying because they've consumed so much food and couldn't digest it fast enough.

Illinois Ranks #7 As Most Competitive Eating State in America

We didn't make the top five most competitive eating states, but we ranked #7 which isn't too shabby!  Wisconsin, where ya at?

Illinois residents have shown they have the appetite and stamina to compete with the best.  I mean, Illinois has over 90 food challenge locations to choose from so there are tons of places to stuff your face!

If I was a competitive eater, I'd win a crab leg eating competition.  One, it's my favorite comfort food.  Two, it's like popcorn - it never fills me up!  That could be dangerous, though.  Consuming too much doesn't sound like my stomach would be happy with that many crab legs haha.
