I might not be the biggest burger fan when I’m home, but when I travel outside of Illinois, I’m on a quest for the most out-there, quirky burgers I can find.

I will say, if I'm really craving a burger in town, I'm all about a basic bacon cheeseburger that's not too overloaded with toppings.  Maybe some onion, cheese, and pickle to spice things up!  What about you?

According to a recent survey, the top burger in Illinois is not as exciting as you'd think.

Over the last year, “hamburger” was the most searched by Illinois residents. Whether they were hunting for the perfect recipe, the best toppings, or just a burger to satisfy those cravings, it looks like we’re all about keeping it straightforward.

Yup, just your classic hamburger. 

I mean, I’m a little bummed.  Where’s the excitement?

I was secretly hoping for a bacon cheeseburger or something with a bit more "pizzazz".  Maybe we’re just super into simplicity, or maybe we just love a good classic burger.

If you could eat one burger for the rest of your life, what would it be?  What would be the "perfect" burger to you?  I need to try all these concoctions because I'm a sucker for odd food combos - all day, every day!
