Vote For Santa Claus, Indiana As Newsweek Best Christmas Town
Voting For Best Christmas Town Has Commenced
Santa Claus, Indiana, has been recognized by Newsweek as one of the top Christmas towns in the country. Now our little pride and joy of the holidays needs our help to take the crown! A Reader's Digest contest, the goal is to name the Best Christmas Town for 2026. The contest is 100% fan-voted, and voting is open now. You can place your vote here. Santa Claus has never won this particular accolade, although they have received plenty of other holiday accomplishments. The town was named one of the world's top Christmas destinations by Forbes in 2011 and a "top Christmas destination" by Hotwire.com more recently. According to the website, Newsweek said this about Santa Claus, Indiana:

The contest will run through November 18, but the cities we are up against are no walk in the holiday park. Other city finalists include Bethlehem, PA, and North Pole, AK, which are the only cities with holiday-related names. There are 15 towns total in the final competition. Ten winners will be announced and featured in the publication at a later date. Here is what Newsweek said about the contest:
"From small towns that sparkle like snow globes to coastal cities glowing with boat parades, these destinations treat December as a season-long welcome. Expect heritage markets, candlelit strolls, twinkling main streets and plenty of hot-cocoa moments for families and friends. Whether you're chasing powder, sunshine or a picture-perfect village square, this year's nominees deliver festive traditions with local flavor: Bavarian facades, Moravian stars, Danish charm, cowboy pageantry and more. Bundle up or break out a sweater as every stop proves the spirit of the holidays is best shared, seen and savored together, with memories that last well past New Year's Day."
