Several comic book adaptations have graced the silver screen over the past few decades, but not every one of them has been a winner. These are undoubtedly the worst superhero movies ever made.

Growing up in the early 2000s, I was fortunate enough to experience the surge of superheroes hitting the big screen. My parents took my sister and me to see all the new ones, most notably the final two Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films. I even enjoyed collecting the DVDs, from Fantastic Four to Batman and Superman. I truly enjoyed a great many of them—but certainly not all of them.

Will 2025's Superhero Movies Be as Bad as Their Predecessors?

In 2025, several major superhero movies are set to hit theaters, including Marvel's Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts, and Fantastic Four: First Steps. Additionally, DC will unveil a brand new Superman film starring David Corenswet. I'm certainly excited about all of them, but now is as good a time as any to mention some of their predecessors that didn’t live up to the hype.

Rotten Tomatoes has put together a list of the worst-rated superhero movies ever made. The Top 10 include some pretty bad ones, but I must admit, I was surprised to see a couple of these on the list. Below, you can find each film ranked from worst to absolute worst, and see just where they scored among critics. If you're like me, you might even get a little dose of nostalgia along the way.
