Kentucky Town Named Among the Prettiest River Towns in America
There are a lot of great towns throughout the country that are nestled along a river, but only one Kentucky town is among the prettiest river towns in the United States.
Some of the most fascinating towns you can visit are found along rivers. Something about a river town is just peaceful and charming. Between all the shops and boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops, and the riverside views, these towns can have a lot to offer. So, if you are looking for an inexpensive weekend getaway, these rivertowns are an often overlooked retreat.

The travel website, Love Exploring, recently released a list of the prettiest United States river towns for a slow weekend. This list has twenty-one river towns from all over the country. When you think about all of the quaint and charming rivertowns this country has to offer, it would be hard to narrow it down to twenty-one. Some states didn't even have one on this list, naturally. However, Kentucky is home to one of the prettiest river towns in America, and it might not be the one you'd expect.
Kentucky Town Named Among the Prettiest River Towns in America
There are a lot of worthy river towns in Kentucky that are worthy of being named among the prettiest in America. I'm sure you could think of a few. That being said, only one made the cut, according to Love Exploring. That town happens to be Paducha.
Here's what Love Exploring had to say about Paducha:
At the confluence of the Ohio and Tennessee Rivers, Paducah is a UNESCO Creative City that pairs southern hospitality with artistic flair. Murals line the floodwall, and restored 19th-century buildings house galleries and cafés.
The city’s artistic spirit is anchored by the National Quilt Museum, which showcases intricate textile art from around the world. A weekend here moves gently between good food, art browsing, and evening walks along the river.
I've spent a lot of time in Paducah, with family from that area, and going to college at Murray State. It's a nice place that always has something going on. Plus, those riverfront views are incredible, especially at sunset.
