This is some really great news for Kentucky, but do you agree with it's ranking?

Most people typically take pride in where they come from. Sometimes there's a little friendly (or not-so-friendly) rivalry between states, where people say this state is better than that state for whatever reason. Then you have people who really don't like the state that they live in. Whether it’s job opportunities, cost of living, or recreation some states just don’t stack up. So, what are the best states in America to live in? That's exactly what we are going to look into today.

Clever Real Estate asked 1,000 Americans to rate the U.S. states on nine quality-of-life metrics. Each respondent answered 25 questions related to where they live, and which states they prefer. Americans gave these 15 states higher cumulative scores:

  1. North Carolina
  2. Montana
  3. South Carolina
  4. Maine
  5. Hawaii
  6. Tennessee
  7. New Hampshire
  8. Kentucky
  9. Colorado
  10. Missouri
  11. Minnesota
  12. Vermont
  13. Georgia

Check Out That Kentucky Ranking!

Yeah, you read that correctly, Kentucky landed in the top ten as the eighth-best state to live in. That's quite the honor. While Kentucky might not be top of mind for folks to visit on vacation or anything like that, apparently its laid-back lifestyle and southern hospitality means more than anything in this ranking.

This is kind of ironic because another study found that Kentucky ranked as the 8th most hated state in America last year. So, at least Kentucky is a solid eight on both ends of the spectrum. So, what do you think? Is Kentucky, in your opinion one of the best states to live in?
