Battle of the Bangers: Shane Smith & The Saints vs. Greylan James
Battle Of The Bangers
There's a plethora of music being released every single day. As a radio station, we can't play them all. I've put together a collection of some of my favorite tunes that either haven't made it, haven't been discovered, or haven't been heard. There may be artists you know, superstars you love, or names you've never heard of. I'll provide some backstory on the artist and my personal favorite lyrics from the song. You decide which one is the banger of the bunch to move on to next week's battle. Tim McGraw's 1995 B-side, Don't Mention Memphis, has finally been de-throned! This week, Shane Smith & The Saints ride their victory wave against up-and-comer Greylan James. Check out his info, his cool banger, and vote for your favorite below!
Shane Smith & The Saints - All I See Is You
Hailing from Austin, Texas, Shane Smith & The Saints are a group of red dirt, Texas music crooners who are putting a fresh twist on an old sound. Formed in 2011, the group has released four studio albums. However, their true rise to prominence came when Taylor Sheridan shared his love for the band via his hit television show, Yellowstone. There were a couple of scenes where Taylor Sheridan openly endorses the band, but due to language, I will not include the clip here. If you'd like to watch it, here ya go. The band was so popular on the show that an entire episode was named after it (Season 4, Episode 3). These guys do an excellent job of twisting Americana, classic country, and electric music into their red dirt, Texas sound. Check them out and place your vote below!
Lori's Favorite Lyrics:
"And I remember our first night abroadAs the sun traded ships with the moonIt was a lot to take in for some eyes from east TexasBut all I could see was you'Cause all I ever see is you."

Greylan James - Pullin' From A Bottle
A young up-and-coming songwriter, you know Greylan James and don't even know it! You've heard his ability to write hit songs in singles such as "Next Thing You Know", which he co-wrote with Jordan Davis. Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, James has become quite the celebrated songwriter, penning songs for artists such as Kenny Chesney, Darius Rucker, Cole Swindell, Chris Young, Chris Janson, and Bailey Zimmerman, to name a few. His incredible songbook has reached over 650 million streams, and he's just getting started! You may recognize his radio single, "Water At A Wedding", but for me, the hit song is "Pullin' From A Bottle", off the same EP release. Check it out below and don't forget to vote for your favorite banger!
Lori's Favorite Lyrics:
"Pushing me away, so I'm pulling from a bottle
Piling on pain that I'll feel tomorrow
Ain't wasting no time, I'm diving right in
To what I got to lose, 80 proof deep end
Just a half-empty porch swing rocking this fool
She's somewhere putting on ice
Yeah, she's pushing me away, so I'm pulling from a bottle tonight"
