INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An Indianapolis father has been arrested in the fatal shooting of his son. Fred Fleener III faces a voluntary manslaughter charges in the death of Fred Fleener IV. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says the victim was shot by his father during an argument over biscuits and gravy at the home.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — State police and other Indiana law enforcement agencies have increased road patrols for the days leading up to Thanksgiving. The campaign began over the weekend. Indiana State Police will conduct high visibility enforcement efforts including sobriety check points and saturation patrols looking for impaired drivers and unrestrained motorists.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An annual campaign that collects used cellphones to benefit Indiana's domestic violence victims has rounded up more than 1,300 of the devices. The HopeLine from Verizon initiative collects unused cellphones and accessories to refurbish and sell. Those proceeds are then used to buy new cellphones equipped with 3,000 anytime minutes for domestic violence survivors.
