This debate takes the cake, but it could be quite interesting to see what you have to say. How many towels do you/should you own?

We'll start with yours truly. I'm a single occupant and I rotate three bath towels, one hand towel, and another hand towel I use after I brush my teeth. I own maybe a total of 10 towels total. There's plenty if a guest is present.

When I was growing up, we had a linen closet full of all types of towels, probably around 15-20. I want to also point out I'm not the type of person who needs a fresh towel after every or every other shower; it just cuts down on the number I have to wash at the end of the week.

We also had a cabinet in the laundry room that was chock full of dish towels and decorative hand towels.

I mean obviously if you have a larger family, I'd say 10-15 towels of all types are a good estimate of what is necessary. It would have to depend on the price of towels as well, some are cheap, some are fancy, and so forth.

Of course the debate on Twitter has taken a bit of comical turn:

So, let's do this, how many towels do you own?
