This morning, all of us at Townsquare Media were invited to attend the check presentation ceremony for Guns and Hoses 2013 hosted by 911 Gives Hope. Every year, after the big firefighters vs police officers boxing match, the proceeds are divided with 50% going to fund a group home for those living with prader willi and the other 50% going to local children's charities...

Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin and Assistant Fire Chief Paul Anslinger were our guests today on Wednesdays With Winnecke. The topics of discussion were the annual charity boxing match between the cops and the firefighters, plus the EPD's new "Choose Not To Lose" program, and the EFD's momentous anniversary.

Billy Bolin is probably best known for his position as the Chief of Police for the Evansville Police Department. And while Billy spends most of his days helping to make Evansville a safer city for us all to live and work - what is it that really makes this law enforcement mastermind tick...

The 5th annual Guns & Hoses charity boxing event is coming up this Saturday night at the Ford Center in downtown Evansville. As always, the event will raise thousands and thousands of dollars for 911 Gives Hope and the local charities that the support.

If you’re still debating whether or not to head out to Guns & Hoses 2012 this weekend, consider this.  Of all the shows, concerts, whatever, you’ll see at the Ford Center (or have seen at Roberts Stadium in the past) there is nothing like the opening ceremony for Guns & Hoses.
