Health officials in Kentucky say there are at 6 cases of the Zika Virus confirmed in the state, including one pregnant woman.

Officials stated that all the people contacted the disease after traveling to Zika-infected areas overseas.

Official did warn that while no cases have started in Kentucky that the virus could spread this summer if people are not alert and take precaution when traveling.

State Health officials recommend that in order to control the spread of the virus thru mosquitoes, people should eliminate standing water near their homes, wear insect repellent, and make sure gutters on their homes are clean so water can freely run off.
