You’ll Never Believe the Secret Ingredient in this Delicious Coleslaw [Recipe]
I kind of have an unnatural love for coleslaw. I think it’s pretty much the most amazing side dish in the world (right behind mashed potatoes, of course). But, it took me a while to find the right ingredients that make my coleslaw better than pretty much any other coleslaw you’ll find. Check it out!
- 1 cup napa pre-shredded coleslaw mix (you can shred your own, but WHY?)
- 1 heaping tbsp mayo
- 1/2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil (available at Asian grocery stores and in in Asian food aisles)
- 2 tbsp almonds or sunflower seeds
- 1 tbsp finely chopped cilantro (optional)
- Salt/pepper to taste
Mix mayo, honey, vinegar, sesame oil, seeds, salt/pepper and cilantro in a bowl. Add honey for sweetness or vinegar for tartness (to taste). Gently pour in shredded coleslaw mix – stir until coated. Serve immediately.
