If you've been in or near downtown lately, you've likely spotted the large yellow balloon floating all alone up in the sky. I've seen it myself several times and wondered what exactly the balloon was being used for. It turns out that it marks the spot for one of three Evansville Rescue Mission Thrift Stores! According to a post made by the ERM, the balloon marks the spot for their  newest store located at 709 E Sycamore Street. If you like to find a good bargain and have never been to one of the Evansville Rescue Mission Thrift Stores, you are missing out my friend!

You can also find Evansville Rescue Mission Thrift Stores at:

2420 Washington Avenue

1405 Oak Hill Road

All 3 stores are open Monday - Friday 9am - 4:30pm and are closed on Saturday & Sunday. According to their website:

Evansville Rescue Mission’s three thrift stores have a little bit of everything for everyone ranging from gently-used clothing (infant to adult sizes) to furniture pieces, used appliances (that are in good condition), linens, and a variety of knick-knacks. Our prices are comparable to other thrift stores, if not better.

What makes our thrift stores unique is that residents of our long-term P.A.C.E.S. program volunteer at our store on a day-to-day basis. As a result, our residents learn invaluable retail experience, and have the opportunity to interact with the general public.

By purchasing items from the ERM Thrift Stores, you help them fund their various ministries benefiting Evansville's "homeless, troubled teenagers, disadvantaged youth, and impoverished families." They also carry new furniture.
