World Renowned Budweiser Clydesdales to Appear in Evansville’s North Main Christmas Parade [Schedule & Santa’s Workshop Info]

The world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales, the symbol of quality and tradition for Anheuser-Busch since 1933, are scheduled to make several appearances in the area November 18 -23, 2014 including one on North Main Street in Evansville in conjunction with the Evansville’s Christmas on North Main Parade. -Gail Knight Williams

The Evansville Christmas on North Main Parade Committee along with Working Distributors and Budweiser is pleased to announce the eight-horse hitch will be harnessed and hitched to the famous red beer wagon at the Civic Center Parking Lot on November 23, 2014 and parade to Bosse Field and through the gates of the Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights. The “Gentle Giants,” as they are often referred to, will participate in the Jacobsville Area Community Corporation / Evansville’s Christmas on North Main Parade.  The parade begins at 2:30.

The Clydesdales’ appearance in Evansville is one of hundreds made annually by the traveling hitches.  Canadians of Scottish descent brought the first Clydesdales to America in the mid-1800’s.  Today, the giant draft horses are used primarily for breeding and show.

Santa’s Workshop will again be at the corner of Columbia and Main St., and will run 12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Santa’s Workshop will feature many activities including: photos with Santa, live music, a petting zoo for the kids, crafts and much more. Visitors will also enjoy a “preview” of Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights, as selected displays will be illuminated to provide a “sneak peek” of that Easter Seals fundraising event which opens on Thanksgiving night.  The parking lot at Bosse field will be used for those wanting to bring lawn chairs or blankets to see the fireworks display directly following the parade beginning around 5:00.

The Evansville’s Christmas on North Main Parade is estimated to draw thousands of people to the North Main Street corridor area of Evansville, IN. The Christmas parade includes local bands from area high schools as well as floats, clowns, cars, dignitaries, other marching and performing groups, and of course, Santa.
