If you are traveling between Evansville and Henderson this weekend expect to see delays over the southbound lanes along the Twin Bridges.

Work was supposed to start earlier this week but was delayed by the contractor, but the Kentucky Department of Transportation announced that work would start at 8:30 this morning.

Here is the press release from Keith Todd with the KYTC:

"The contractor will be ready for a daytime SOUTHBOUND work zone on Friday and Saturday, March 17 & 18, 2017.

On Friday, all SOUTHBOUND traffic will move to the right-hand or driving lane.  This southbound work zone is expected to be in place from approximately 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., CDT, on Friday.

On Saturday, all SOUTHBOND traffic will move to the left-hand or passing lane in this work zone.  On Saturday, the southbound work zone is expected to be in place from approximately 7:00 a.m., CDT, to about 5:00 p.m.

An analysis of work completed on Friday will allow the contractor to plan a work schedule for next week.  We hope to share the schedule for next week  by sometime late Friday afternoon or evening.

On Friday, the KYTC District 2 Bridge Crew will take advantage of the contractor’s work zone to replace about 25 ft. of handrail that was damaged during a crash on Monday."

Please give yourself some extra time and patience when traveling over the bridges this weekend.
