Lisa McIntire is a freelance writer from San Francisco. Like most of us, she gets credit card offers in the mail. But an offer from Bank of America that was sent to her mother's address was a little different. In the mailing address, and in the form letter within, it referred to Lisa as "Lisa Is A Slut McIntire."

Offensive direct mail isn't new for big companies, or the companies they hire to do the mailings. Recently Office Max sent a letter to "Mike Seay, Daughter Killed In Car Crash, or Current Business."

I know these things are automated by computers, but there has got to be some sort of a check in place to keep stuff like this from happening.
