It's a sad day in the Evansville corner of Twitter, as the wife of the anonymous man behind the hilarious parody account, Fake Lloyd Winnecke (@evv_fake_mayor) announces her husband's passing after battling a long-term illness in a series of tweets.

I've said before in this space, when it comes to who you should follow on Twitter, Fake Lloyd Winnecke was near the top of the list. Over the years, he used the medium, and his wit, to poke a little fun at the Mayor, his administration, and the city itself without coming off as mean-spirited.

His tweets always put a smile on my face, and often made me chuckle out loud. From time to time, I would visit his page to see if there were any tweets I missed because I truly enjoyed reading what his observations. He was consistent stream of poignant political humor that didn't take himself too seriously. I'm sure he will be missed by his other 2,071 followers.

My condolences to his wife and family during this difficult time.
