What’s the Red Equal Sign All Over Facebook?

Have you seen a red equal sign on friends' news feeds and profile pictures? In response to the Supreme Court's reviewing of gay marriage, the Human Rights Campaign is using the symbol to support legalization. The Human Rights Campaign is an organization that focuses on making LGBT marriages legal in all states. The campaign has proven quite successful.

In a Facebook post the Human Rights Campaign asked gay marriage supporters to “paint the town red,” wearing an article of red clothing as well as posting the red equal sign on their Facebook pages. Many celebrities and politicians have changed their profile pictures to the symbol as well.
