Wednesdays With Winnecke – Reitz Memorial Project and Evansville Icemen [Audio]

(ReitzMemorial.org)

Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke joins us every Wednesday at 8:30am for a 30-minute program that covers all types of topics and issues that affect Evansville and the region. This week we talk about the new project to improve the Reitz Memorial campus, and the Evansville Icemen.

Our first guests were Michael Lloyd and Brother Lawrence Murphy, who were on to discuss this new $6 million (privately funded) Reitz Memorial project. This campaign is almost fully funded already thanks to hundreds of individuals and corporations. In our interview below, we discuss aspects of the project, why it’s important, and when it should be completed. Of course you can find out even more, and make a donation if you’d like, at ReitzMemorial.org.

Our Evansville Icemen are off to a great start so far this season! In fact, they were victorious earlier today, beating our in-state rivals the Fort Wayne Komets on Education Day at the Ford Center. The voice of the Icemen, Derick Benigni, joined us for the second segment today to talk about the Icemen’s new coach and the success they’ve had so far this season.
