Families aren't the only individuals displaced by the destruction Hurricane Maria caused in Puerto Rico, several animals were also left homeless as result of the storm. On Monday, the Vanderburgh Humane Society received 11 of those dogs, and they're hoping you'll find room in your home to make them part of your family.

The 11 dogs were part of approximately 120 who were flown into Indianapolis Monday evening and dispersed to Humane Society's and animal rescues across the state.

In a post on the Society's Facebook page, Development Coordinator, Amanda Coburn said the dogs arrived at the facility around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

When exactly the dogs will be available for adoption, is essentially up to the dogs according to a comment by someone at the Humane Society.

Be sure to check the Humane Society's website and Facebook page regularly for updates on when the sweet pups will be ready to become part of your family.
