Have an old laptop or desktop computer taking up space in a closet? Or maybe you finally upgraded to an HDTV and need to get rid of that bulky old television. Whatever the situation, get rid of it this Thursday and Friday during the Vanderburgh County Solid Waste District's Electronics Recycling event.

The annual event is open to Vanderburgh County residents only and will take place from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at C & I Electronics located at 1700 North Lafayette in Evansville.

The following electronic items for are eligible for recycling:

  • Computers
  • Monitors
  • Laptops
  • Hard Drives
  • Modems
  • Fax Machines
  • Scanners
  • Printers
  • DVRs and DVDs
  • iPods or other MP3 Players

While it may seem they'll take practically anything, there are several items you won't be able to bring, including:

  • Copy Machines
  • Microwaves
  • Appliances

Televisions will be accepted for a fee of $20 each, while those looking to ditch old Projection TV's will be charged $40 per television.
