In an effort to help people get to the polls in November, ride sharing companies, Uber & Lyft plan to offer free or reduced fee rides to the polls on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6, 2018. According to a  recent Lyft blog, "It is estimated that over 15 million people were registered but didn’t vote in 2016 because of transportation issues." Because of these staggering statistics, Lyft will be offering half-off rides on Election Day and free rides for those living in "underserved communities that face significant obstacles to transportation." Likewise, Uber is launching their "Drive the Vote" campaign, in an effort to increase voter turnout. Uber will include a "Go to the Polls" button in the app on Election Day. They too will be offering free rides with their partnered programs, including: #VoteTogether and Democracy Works.

There is no doubt that making your voice heard is important and now there really is no excuse not to get out on vote on November 6th.
