Drivers who use the stretch of Highway 41 between St. George and Lynch Roads for their daily commute will need to plan on leaving early, or find an entirely different route for approximately the next week as the Indiana Department of Transportation sets southbound lane restrictions beginning tomorrow (January 10th) to complete work on repairing a railroad crossing in the area.

Crews rerouted traffic in the northbound lanes last week to work on the tracks that cross Highway 41 near Yokel Road.

According to the initial press release posted by INDOT on December 28th, the work is expected to take less than a week, weather permitting. However, with Evansville expected to receive two to four inches of rain over the next several days, that certainly could lengthen the amount of time it takes the work to be done.
