Opening March 17, the new addition will feature 12 outside sports experiences and three indoor exhibits encompassing both physical fitness and awe-inspiring sports history. Rather than focusing on skill levels, scores or statistics, this experience places emphasis on the benefits of participating in sports activities – the physical, mental and social rewards of being in motion.

The month of May means speed in the Racing Capitol of the World, but the city is moving fast all year round. Head out to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum to learn the history of the track and the sport. Strap into a real Indy 500 car – driven by someone who has competed in the iconic race – and go nearly 200 mph around the famed oval or hop behind the wheel of a go kart at Speedway Indoor Karting or Fastimes and see what it’s like to take control.

Grab a Bite

2018 marks Indy’s strongest culinary scene to date. With hundreds of trendy, local restaurants and several top-tier chefs spread across the city, it’s no surprise Indy was named “America’s Most Underrated Food City” by Conde Nast Traveler. If you’re looking for a world-class, Indiana-grown pork tenderloin sandwich, an out-of-this world St Elmo Shrimp Cocktail, a trendy brunch spot (Milktooth?) or something in between – look no further than the Circle City.

Stay The Night

Stay in an original train car room on its original tracks inside what was the world’s first ever Union Station at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. OR spice it up a notch with the JW Marriott’s spring break package featuring Sports Legends Experience tickets, complimentary parking, special room rates and sweet treats at check-in. If it’s history you’re after, check out Indy’s longest running luxury hotel, the Omni Severin, a beautifully restored piece of the city’s history. Book your stay here.
