Everybody is always busy and we like those places we can jet in and out of for a quick bite to eat or a pick-me-up cup of coffee.  Evansville has quite a few little sandwich shops that can do all that and more!  Downtown lunch hour always seems to showcase some of these places.

Emge’s Deli – 206 Main Street

Right on Main Street in the heart of downtown!  This could be my favorite one actually – a turkey club on potato bread is a winner in my book!  Personal opinions aside, everyone working at Emge’s is always polite and the lunch time crowd is never thin.  Try for yourself what kinds of winning combinations you can whip up for lunch at Emge’s!

Bits and Bytes – 216 NW 4th Street

Another downtown gem in the world of sandwich shops and lunchtime stops!  A warm cup of soup and a grilled chicken sandwich were great when the weather was SO cold this winter.  Of course, now it’s hot, but don’t worry – they have plenty of salads and other sandwiches, too.  The inside has a cozy feel where you can watch the bustle on the downtown streets through the windows.

Schlotzsky’s Deli – 301 N. Green River Road

For those of you not working downtown, this could be a good stop for you!  Toasted sandwiches, wraps, salads, and a whole lot more!  Their own website even says “Variety is the spice of life.”  So, for those of you like me who like to look at 65 items before deciding – this takes care of that and then some.  Personally, I like spicy and there is no lacking of chipotle or spicy options for all the menu choices at Schlotzsky’s.  Oh and don’t forget one of the Cinnabon desserts – they’re great!

There are TONS more great sandwich shops in Evansville but there’s no way to list them all!  You’ll just have to try them for yourself and shoot back your favorites and your “go-to” items there.
