The 2012 Summer Olympics, a UFC rematch and the PGA Tour’s last major of 2012 highlight the upcoming TV sports calendar. Here’s what to watch this weekend:

Friday, August 10

Summer Olympics

London, England; 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. / 8 p.m.-Midnight (ET); NBC-TV

The men’s water polo semifinals and freestyle wrestling finals highlight the live daytime coverage of the 2012 Summer Olympics from London on Friday. At night, the previously recorded coverage will feature track events, the men’s pole vault and the BMX gold medal finals.

PGA Championship — Second Round

Kiawah Island, South Carolina; 1 p.m. (ET); TNT-TV

Kiawah Island’s Ocean Course hosts the PGA Tour’s last major golf tournament of 2012 this weekend. Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are among the favorites to be near the top of the leaderboard, while defending champion Keegan Bradley seeks to retain his title.

Saturday, August 11

Summer Olympics

London, England; 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. / 8 p.m. – Midnight (ET); NBC-TV

The US women’s basketball team will play for the gold medal during the live daytime coverage from the 2012 Summer Olympics on Saturday. The US women’s volleyball team is also expected to advance to the gold medal match, scheduled for delayed broadcast on Saturday night. In the track and field events on Saturday’s night, gold medals will be awarded in the men’s 4 x 100 meter relay, men’s 5000-meters, women’s 4 x 400-meters and several other categories.

UFC 150 — Benson Henderson vs. Frankie Edgar

Pepsi Center, Denver, CO ; 10 p.m. (ET); Pay Per View

After losing to Benson Henderson at UFC 144 in Japan, Frankie Edgar gets his rematch on Saturday in Denver with the UFC lightweight title on the line. Many fans felt Edgar won the earlier fight, so this clash could be a classic UFC battle. Other fights on the undercard include Donald Cerrone vs. Melvin Guillard; Jake Shields vs. Ed Herman and Yushin Okami vs. Rousimar Palhares.

Sunday, August 12

Summer Olympics

London, England; 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. / 7 p.m. (ET); NBC-TV

The US men’s basketball team is expected to participate in the gold medal game scheduled for live broadcast on Sunday morning. Other live events include the men’s marathon, the men’s volleyball final and the men’s water polo final. The Closing Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games will be aired on a delay beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.

PGA Championship — Final Round

Kiawah Island, South Carolina; 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. (TNT-TV) / 2:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. (CBS-TV)

The best players on the PGA Tour will play the final round of this major tournament on Sunday. Gary Woodland, Geoff Ogilvy and John Daly were among the first round leaders who could walk away with the championship.

Finger Lakes 355 at The Glen

Watkins Glen International, Watkins Glen, NY; 1:19 p.m. (ET); ESPN-TV

NASCAR’s Sprint Cup series moves to the road track of Watkins Glen this weekend. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is still in the points lead, but second-place driver Matt Kenseth is just five points behind him and third-ranked Greg Biffle is just six points out.

Atlanta Braves at New York Mets

Citi Field, Flushing , NY; 8:05 p.m. (ET); ESPN-TV

National League East teams collide on ESPN’s ‘Sunday Night Baseball’ game this week. The Atlanta Braves (64-47) are four games back of the Washington Nationals in the NL East, but they lead the NL Wild Card standings. Braves’ starter Ben Sheets (4-1, 1.41) will look to continue his resurgence against a Mets’ lineup anchored by third-baseman David Wright. New York (53-58) stumbled out of playoff contention after the All-Star break. They’ll send Jonathon Niese (8-6, 3.82) against an Atlanta batting order that starts with All-Star outfielder Michael Bourn.
