‘The Killing’ Season 3 Claims Peter Sarsgaard
After being cancelled and almost heading to Netflix, AMC revived divisive drama 'The Killing' for a third season, and they're lining up quite the impressive cast. According to TV Line, Peter Sarsgaard ('An Education' -- the less said about 'Green Lantern,' the better) is joining the cast alongside indie actress Amy Seimetz, who was also announced today. Seimetz can be seen in Shane Carruth's 'Upstream Color,' which hits theaters in April.
Sarsgaard and Seimetz join the previously announced Elias Koteas and Max Fowler with returning actors Joel Kinnaman and Mireille Enos. Sarsgaard will be playing a death row inmate, described as "a lifelong convict born into poverty and crime" who has been in and out of prison since he was a little kid. His character is the dominant type, who tries to control his interactions to keep people from perceiving him as weak.
While this new cast definitely sounds fantastic, we're still a little wary given how much seasons one and two felt like a long con. Hopefully this season has a more contained story line.
