The very idea of the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series in 2015 is enough to make you chuckle, no offense to Cubs fans, but I think even they would agree. The Cubs have not won a World Series since 1908, but that may have changed.

The big sports news this week was the signing of free agent pitching ace Jon Lester by the Chicago Cubs. Couple that with former Tamp Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon being named as the Cubs skipper a few weeks back, suddenly the Cubs are relevant.....VERY relevant, but that is only part of the story.

There was a scene in the movie Back to the Future Part ll where Marty McFly was in the Hill Valley town square at some point in the future when he was approached by a guy asking if he wanted to help save the clock tower, which was struck by lightening 60 years ago. We know from the original movie, the clock tower was hit by lightening in 1955.

Marty then sees a video hologram billboard of a sports story that the Chicago Cubs just won the World Series in a five game sweep over Miami. Remember, the other guy said the clock tower was hit 60 years ago in 1955. Add 60 to 1955 and you get.....2015!!!!

While the movie did not predict the signing of Jon Lester, it did predict the Cubs would win the World Series in 2015. We do know it won't be over Miami, but it has to happen, right? I mean, it was foretold. The curse of the billy goat dies in 2015......who knew? Marty McFly...that's who!!
