So by now you are probably familiar with "the poll" that recently declared Evansville as the 8th most miserable place to live in this great country of ours. Well, for now I won't get in to how ridiculous and unrealistic that poll is, and instead I'll focus on some students that are trying to change that perception with We Are Evansville.

Recently a group of students at the University of Southern Indiana were discussing this poll in a Public Relations class. Several of the students got angry at the claims made by this poll. The students acknowledged that they aren't miserable and that the poll results were not a true representation of life in Evansville. So their teacher asked them "what are you going to do about it?" This is where the idea of We Are Evansville was born. It's a grass roots movement at its very finest...started by some young people that want to make a difference, and it's quickly gaining momentum. In a very short time, the We Are Evansville Facebook page has gathered nearly 1,300 likes and is getting bigger everyday. More and more people are ordering t-shirts and show support.

So how can you be a part of this movement? It's really quite simple...visit (and like) the We Are Evansville Facebook page, and share what makes you proud of Evansville. Help spread the word, and generate some positive feedback about this great city. And spread the word on Twitter too, using #WeAreEVV.
