When you think of child hunger, you don't think of it being here in the tri-state but according to The Boys & Girls Club of Evansville, "we are experiencing unprecedented growth in the number of children served on a daily basis, and unfortunately, many of these kids are lacking proper nutrition. Simply put – the kids are hungry. While the Boys & Girls Club is doing what it can to address this issue, they need our help to “Stock the Pantry.” With the opening of their new facility, they have more than doubled their membership. Over 96% of the kids live in poverty and over 85% live in a single-parent home. With over 150 kids visiting the Boys & Girls Club EVERY DAY, the need to address proper nutrition has become a much greater initiative especially considering the tie between proper nutrition and educational achievement."
