St. Mary’s Hospital Hosts ‘Safe Sitter’ Class
Baby sitting...seems like a right of passage and a great way to make some extra money for so many young people. And what a great idea...teaching those young people how to keep our kiddos safe.
The next Safe Sitter class in on Wednesday, December 28th. This is one-day program that offers hands on education for boys and girls ages 11-13, teaching them how to handle emergencies they might encounter while babysitting. They will learn:
- What to do when a child chokes
- CPR
- How to call for emergency help
- Babysitting business skills
- Basic childcare skills, diapering, feeding, etc.
- How to entertain children and keep them safe
The course runs from 8:30am-3:30pm and the cost is $45, which includes a manual, a bag and supplies. Since class sizes are limited you must reserve a spot for your child by calling St. Mary’s Outreach Services at (812)485-5607.
