Profession: Retired Basketball Player

Best Known For: The first female member of the Harlem Globetrotters, Lynette Woodard was a gifted basketball player who was a four-time All-American at the University of Kansas from 1978 to 1981. Woodard was a member of the US women’s basketball team that won the gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. From 1997 to 1998, Woodard played for the Cleveland Rockers and Detroit Shock of the WNBA. She was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2004.

Pete Sampras

Age: 41

Profession: Retired Tennis Player

Best Known For: Winner of 14 Grand Slam men’s singles titles, Pete Sampras is among the greatest tennis players of all time. The world No.1-ranked player at year’s end from 1993 to 1998, Sampras won 64 singles titles from 1988 to 2003. Sampras won seven men’s singles titles at Wimbledon, a record he shares with Roger Federer, and five US Open men’s singles titles, a record he shares with Federer and Jimmy Connors. He was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2007.

Todd Marchant

Age: 39

Profession: Retired NHL Player

Best Known For: A durable NHL center, Todd Marchant played for the Anaheim Ducks, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers and Columbus Blue Jackets from 1993 to 2011. Marchant was a member of the Ducks’ team that won the 2007 Stanley Cup.

Antoine Walker

Age: 36

Profession: Retired NBA Player

Best Known For: A three-time All-Star, Antoine Walker played forward in the NBA from 1996 to 2008 with the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Hawks, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves. After starting on the national championship-winning team at the University of Kentucky in 1996, Walker was selected by the Boston Celtics with the sixth overall pick of the 1996 NBA Draft. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie Team in 1997. Walker was a member of the Miami Heat team that won the 2006 NBA title. Since leaving the NBA, Walker has had legal and financial troubles.

Plaxico Burress

Age: 35

Profession: NFL Player

Best Known For: A skilled wide receiver, Plaxico Burress has played 10 seasons in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants and New York Jets. Burress was selected in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. While playing for the New York Giants, Burress caught the game-winning touchdown pass of the team’s victory in Super Bowl XLII. In 2008, Burress accidentally shot himself while at a New York City nightclub. He was sentenced to two years in prison on gun charges, but only served 20 months before returning to play football with the Jets in 2011. Burress is currently a free agent.
