'SNL' has lost some major names in the last few years, particularly on the female side of things, and its latest could prove no less devastating. Talented comedienne and 'SNL' star Nasim Pedrad has officially signed on for producer Lorne Michaels new untittled NBC pilot, which would likely take precedence over the sketch comedy show if taken to series. Find out about Nasim Pedrad's new series inside!

Per The Hollywood Reporter, 'SNL' player Nasim Pedrad may be leaving Studio 8H for good in the near future. Pedrad has reportedly signed on for the leading female role in NBC's forthcoming John Mulaney/Lorne Michaels sitcom, loosely based on the comedian and 'SNL' writer’s life with a group of young people and their hijinks. Pedrad would play Jane, the sweet, intelligent and lazy grade school teacher who doesn't care for her job and wishes to make changes, but finds herself addicted to procrastinating.

Created, written by and starring stand-up comedian Mulaney, the untitled three-camera pilot also features Martin Short and Elliott Gould. Pedrad would most likely leave 'SNL' behind, taking with her acclaimed impressions of Christina Aguilera, Lea Michele, Kim Kardashian, Sharon Osbourne and Nicki Minaj. Pedrad currently ranks as the longest-running tenured female cast member after the departures of Kristen Wiig and Abby Elliott.

Well, what say you? Would you follow Nasim Pedrad to a new NBC sitcom, or prefer she stay with 'SNL'?
