Skylar Astin Is ‘Pitch Perfect’ – The Daily Swoon

You may have noticed actor Skylar Astin in the awesome anti-'Glee' film 'Pitch Perfect' this year, or maybe on HBO's 'Girls.' In any case, if you haven't been paying attention, now is the time because he is about to be a BIG DEAL.

Admission: I only just watched 'Pitch Perfect' last night after months of friends telling me I should see it because I would love it. They were right -- it was hilarious and cute, and everything I hoped it would be. But my big takeaway was Skylar Astin, an actor I'd only sort of noticed before, but in 'Pitch Perfect' he totally stole my heart (and the heart of leading lady Anna Kendrick, natch).

But you guys, he is seriously adorable. You know how we are around here -- we don't like boys solely because they're pretty. We like boys who have tons of talent to go around, and Astin fits the bill. He can sing and dance, and he's got those traditional good boy looks that make you think you could take him home to your mother without shame, and she'd be like, "I'm so glad you finally found a nice boyfriend!" And then you're all, "UGH, MOM, SHUT UP."

The 25-year-old Astin starred in the hit Broadway musical 'Spring Awakening,' which won eight Tony awards, and he had a small part in an episode of 'Girls' earlier this year (as the guy who refused to sleep with Shoshanna because she was a virgin). He also lent his voice to the animated film 'Wreck-It Ralph' and has a part in the upcoming film '21 and Over.'

Like we said. Dude's gonna be big.
