Severe Weather Drills Scheduled for Today

No need to panic, it’s just a drill. Statewide tornado drills are scheduled for today. The drills are part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana and are scheduled to occur between 9 and 9:30 this morning and again this evening between 6:30 and 7.

During the drill, radio and television stations across the state will broadcast a series of tones followed by the drill information and the weather sirens will likely go off. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to use the drill as an opportunity to practice their tornado/severe weather plans.

Participants in the drill include the National Weather Service, Indiana State Police, the Indiana Broadcasters Association and other state and local agencies.
