Come to the Evansville Museum of Arts, History and Science this Saturday and Sunday to see The Meaning of Wild, an award winning documentary from filmmaker Ben Hamilton.

This 30-minute documentary was filmed in and throughout Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska. Hamilton traveled through the park/forest by boat, plane, kayak and foot in order to capture this breathtaking footage. Footage includes Hamilton encountering bears, calving glaciers, ancient forests and harsh seas. It is the characters that Hamilton meets along the way that bring true insight to his mission.

The film celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act and seeks to share these national treasures and inspire the next generation of wilderness advocates. Following the documentary, Ben Hamilton will be available to answer questions.

Showings will be at 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.  See the trailer below.
