Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will welcome the start of the holiday season with the lighting of the Official City of Evansville Christmas Tree in front of the Civic Center on Friday, November 20, at 5:15pm. The Bosse High School Concert Choir, led by Choir Director Lauren Fendrich, will perform two holiday songs and Mayor Winnecke will offer a few remarks about the history of this year’s Christmas Tree before starting the countdown to turn on the lights. The public is invited to attend.

Special thanks to Evansville resident Patricia Shipp for donating a Blue Spruce for the City’s holiday display and to SKANSKA for donating the crew and equipment to cut down the tree and transport it to the Civic Center. The tree should arrive Downtown between 7:30-8 a.m. on Monday, November 16.

The Christmas tree will remain on display in front of the Civic Center building through the holiday season and will be removed sometime after January 1, 2016.
