The staff at Holiday World and Splashin' Safari announced new attractions fans of the theme park will see in 2017 by saying nothing at all in a Mannequin Challenge video released to on their YouTube channel Wednesday.

If you're like me, you probably watched the video and figured the orange "car" at the 55 second mark and the blue "car" with George the Eagle sitting inside had something to to do with it, but you just weren't sure what exactly. Fortunately, along with the video, the park released a press release detailing their plans.

The orange and blue cars will be part of new ride in the 4th of July section of the park called, "Firecracker." If the cars in the video look old, that's because they are as Firecracker is an old ride the park recently acquired from another theme park in northern Indiana. It's original home as at LeSourdsville Lake Park near Cincinnati way back in 1972. When that park shut down in 2002, the ride was purchased and moved to Fun Spot in northeast Indiana where it lived until THAT park closed its gates in 2008. The exact details of when it was acquired by Holiday World was not made available in the park's press release.

Firecracker will be what is known in the theme park world as a Calypso ride, and will feature 16 cars with room for two passengers each. Think of it as a relative to the Scrambler which is a popular ride in the midway at the Fall Festival. No going upside down, just spinning around in circles, feeling the pull of gravity from the centrifugal force generated by the ride. Still having a hard time picturing it? Here's video from a similar ride at Cedar Point Park in Sandusky, Ohio.

Outside the Firecracker announcement, the park also announced a few other minor additions, some of which were more maintenance related including track work on The Voyage and The Raven wooden roller coasters, and new six-story tower at Watubee family water slide.

Check out the park's complete press release at their website, and get ready for another fun season at Holiday World & Splashin' Safari when they open their gates on April 29th, 2017.
