Yesterday, I noticed this photo pop up in my Facebook news feed. All my parent friends seemed to totally relate.

I contacted Dee Wise-Heinz about her PTA's "alternative fundraiser." I like to call it the "honest fundraiser." Though Dee is from Noblesville (a fellow Hoosier) she lives on the outskirts of Dallas. She received this hilarious letter from her local PTA.

Dee told me, "This note obviously resonated with many parents!"

And, she's right. It currently has 123 shares from her page alone and national news outlets like CNN have contacted her for an interview.

What makes this so relateable to parents is the fact that we are all sick and tired of our kids hawking (and being asked multiple times throughout the year to buy) over-priced wrapping paper, plant bulbs, mulch, edibles... I even had one student come to my house selling trash bags last year. (Though many neighbors informed me of the undeniable quality of said trash bags.)

In any event, Dee and I agreed that this was the way to go unless your school is selling the $1 chocolate bars. That fundraiser is not only perfectly acceptable but wholeheartedly welcome!
