Radio show host Rush Limbaugh praised Nelson Mandela, the former South African president who died this week, as a man who suffered the horrors of apartheid and prison without letting it turn him "bitter and angry."

Limbaugh posted a quote from Mandela on his Facebook page that he believes perfectly represents everything the civil rights leader stood for in life.

Mandela, who spent 27 years of his life in prison, emerged as impassioned as ever to end apartheid in South Africa and was elected the country's president in 1994.

He passed away due to complications from a lung infection on Thursday, Dec. 5. Mandela was 95.
