Indiana University has just gained a new professor, Richard Lugar, former Indiana Senator.  He and former representative, Lee Hamilton, will serve as distinguished scholars at I.U.’s School of Global and International Studies.

Richard Lugar, who was the former Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman, plans to donate his Senate papers to the Bloomington Campus’ Herman B. Wells Library.  He had represented Indiana for 36 years in the Senate.  Lugar will co-chair with Lee Hamilton on I.U.’s International Advisory Committee.  I’m personally happy for both Richard Lugar and Indiana University.  I have always admired and respected Richard Lugar because to me, it appeared that he consistently represented Indiana with the best intentions and what he thought was right.  I wish both Mr. Lugar and I.U. much success!
