‘Pushups For Charity’ Part of This Month’s Fitness In The Park Event – This Saturday
Since his first day in office, Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has demonstrated his committment to giving Evansville residents the opportunity to get, and stay, fit and healthy. One way he’s done this is through the FREE monthly Fitness In The Park events. The next event is this Saturday, May 17th.
Things will start with the “Healthier U Walk” from 9am-11am at Wesselman Park on Boeke Rd. Following the walk, you’re invited to participate in a Boot Camp exercise session from 10am-11am with instructors provided by the YMCA. Participants of all fitness levels are welcome and should exercise at their own pace. And, as always, the program is FREE.
This month, folks also have the chance to participate in Pushups for Charity, which benefits wounded veterans and their families. This is the fifth year for the charity event in Evansville hosted by Tony Maslan, Director of Personal Training for Custom Fit at Bob’s Gym, and the third year Energize Evansville has participated in the event.
If you’d like to participate in Pushups for Charity, you can do so at Wesselman Park or Downtown on the Evansville Riverfront during River Run festivities. To register, or to make a donation, visit www.PushupsForCharity.com or contact Tony Maslan at 812-305-5037. All proceeds will go to the Boot Campaign.
