A picture is worth a thousand words, right? Well, in this case, those words are probably along the line of "ow," "this hurts" and "call a doctor."

Get a look at this picture from photographer Carl Recine, which was chosen as the Best Sports Photo of the year at the SJA British Sports Journalism Awards on Monday night.

The boxer in question is Cesar David Inalev, who took one from WBO intercontinental super-lightweight champion Jack Catterall during their fight last March. It's proof that boxing is a gloriously violent sport, in case you'd somehow forgotten that absorbing a blow that treats your mug like it's mashed potatoes can be violent.
