Evansville takes care of business in the regular season finale against Washington, guaranteeing at least one home playoff game this Saturday.

It's been a wild final week of the season for the Otters. They went into the series against Washington on Tuesday still in the hunt for a division crown. Dropping both games of that opening double-header took them out of that race, but locked them into a playoff spot, they're first since 2006. A win on Wednesday in game three of the series meant they would see the Wild Things again in Saturday's Wild Card game, and left last night's game a contest to determine whether that game would be played at Bosse Field, or in Washington.

Fortunately for the Otters, outfielder Chris Sweeney was able to break what became a pitcher's duel through six innings with a solo home run in the top of the seventh to give the Otters a 1-0 win, the fourth seed in the Frontier League playoffs, and a home game at Bosse Field on Saturday.

Otters starter, Edgar Lopez gets the win after throwing a career-high seven scoreless innings before closer Eric Massingham netted his eighth save of the season by retiring all three batters he faced in the bottom of the ninth.

Evansville now heads back home for a short rest, and to prepare for the Wild Things one last time this year. First pitch for Saturday's game is scheduled for 6:35 PM, and general admission tickets are onlyONE DOLLAR!
