Anthony Rizzo hit a tie-breaking home run in the sixth inning, and the Cubs beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-4, in Chicago on Tuesday to win the National League Division Series and advance to their first National League Championship Series since 2003.

Down 4-2 in the sixth, St. Louis rallied to tie the game with two runs off Cubs reliever Trevor Cahill, but Rizzo untied the score with a two-out, solo homer off Cardinals’ reliever Kevin Siegrist in the bottom of the inning.

Kyle Schwarber added a monster home run off Siegrist in the seventh inning as insurance for Chicago.

Cahill got the win for the Cubs, while Hector Rondon notched the save. Siegrist took the loss for St. Louis.

Javier Baez’s three-run home run off Cardinals starter John Lackey in the second inning erased a 2-0 Chicago deficit formed when Stephen Piscotty hit his third homer of the series, a two-run shot, in the first inning for St. Louis.

The Cubs will visit the winner of the Mets-Dodgers’ series on Saturday in Game 1 of the NLCS.
