Tom+Chee, the grilled cheese restaurant made famous on “Shark Tank,” will open this week in Evansville on 2121 North Green River Road. Founded by Corey Ward and Jenny Rachford, the Cincinnati-based restaurant Tom+Chee will open today (Friday).

Specializing in tomato soup and grilled cheese, Tom+Chee is known for its fresh ingredients and quirky takes on comfort food classics. From the vegetarian Hippy+Chee to the offbeat Grilled Cheese Donut, Tom+Chee offers 20+ grilled cheese sandwiches, plus fresh salads, three versions of tomato soup, and an endless array of specials. The entire menu is made fresh, with no fryers, freezers or microwaves, and offers a variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. The Evansville Tom+Chee will be open Monday through Saturday from 10:30am to 10pm, and Sundays from 10:30am to 9pm.

Tom+Chee was co-founded by former restaurant manager Trew Quackenbush and his wife Jennifer Quackenbush, and entrepreneur Corey Ward and his wife Jenny Rachford. They are an innovative new restaurant chain that offers a unique menu based off of the classic meal, Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup. What began in a small tent next to an ice-skating rink in Cincinnati’s Fountain Square quickly but quietly grew to three stores in the Cincinnati market, and they began franchising. Tom+Chee has been featured on ABC's Shark Tank, The Chew, The Travel Channel's Man vs Food Nation, and Amazing Eats, and the Today Show named their Grilled Cheese Doughnut one of the “Best Sandwiches in America”.
