We're already excited for DreamWorks' 'Need for Speed' video game-adapted movie because 'Breaking Bad' star Aaron Paul is leading the cast, but now the flick is getting even more star power by adding another big name into the mix -- rapper Kid Cudi.

Unlike many video game movies of the past (cough* cough* 'Deus Ex' and 'Mass Effect,' pick up your feet, please), 'Need for Speed' is not falling back into the shadows. With a release date for February 17, 2014, the film has added yet another star to its roster in the form of rapper Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi, reports THR.

Aiming for that 1970s car-culture movie vibe, "the story sees Paul play a local street racer who, after being framed for the death of a friend, joins a New York-to-Los Angeles race to get revenge." Kid Cudi will be playing a member of his crew.

This is definitely not his first time hitting the screen, though, as the rapper has previously been featured in HBO's 'How to Make It in America' and the indie flick 'Two Night Stand.' Not to mention he's also reportedly involved in the upcoming 'Ninja Turtles' reboot. Aside from Paul and Kid Cudi, 'Need for Speed' will also feature Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots, Ramon Rodriguez, Rami Malek and Harrison Gilbertson, with 'Act of Valor's' Scott Waugh directing and a story/script from George and John Gatins.

What do you think? Are you happy to see Kid Cudi's name thrown into the 'Need for Speed' mix? Are there any others you want to see join the cast?
