Thanksgiving means family and FOOD!  To help you out this Thursday, here's a super easy green bean casserole recipe!

Green Bean Casserole is one of my personal favorites.  I think its the flavor that gets me and I could eat the stuff for a week.  So, years ago, I developed a quick way to make this delicious side dish. My recipe makes enough for six to eight people plus leftovers!

Ingredients:

1 - 9x13 deep casserole dish (spray liberally with non-stick cooking spray)
4 - cans of french style green beans (drained in a colander)
1 - family size can of Campbells Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 - large can of fried onions
1/2 - small sweet onion, chopped
salt - 1/2 teaspoon
pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
1/2 cup 2% milk

Step 1:

Spray the casserole dish liberally with a non-stick cooking spray. In a separate bowl mix together the green beans, the entire can of mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, onion, and 1/2 of the can of dried onions.

Step 2:

Pour entire mixture into the casserole dish. Bake at 375 for 30 - 35 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the casserole starts to bubble.

Step 3:

During the last 5 minutes, scatter the remaining half of the can of fried onions on top of the casserole and return to the oven. Dish is ready when the onion topping starts to brown and crisp.

You can also make this with asparagus instead of green beans and add water chestnuts for a little extra crunch!
